Visiting a DELTA Test Center? Here’s How to Prepare

Are you new to NC State Online and Distance Education this semester? Are you wondering where and how you’ll be taking your tests and exams? Check your syllabus for each class. You may be assigned to take a test at one of our test centers. We’ve put together this easy guide.

Locations

First things first, there are two test centers located on NC State’s campus for students requiring our Online and Distance Education Testing Services. The Centennial Campus Test Center is located in Venture IV at 1730 Varsity Drive. Here’s a map.

Before you arrive, you may want to familiarize yourself with our facility through this 360° virtual tour.

One other thing to consider, the DELTA Test Center on Centennial Campus has limited space for studying. Check out some of these alternative study locations that are all within walking distance to the center.

Our Main Campus Test Center is located in Room 205 in Cox Hall at 2700 Stinson Drive. Only certain classes are available at Cox Hall. Here’s a map.

Now that you know where our test centers are located, it’s time to plan your first visit and ace that test. There are a few things all NC State Online and Distance Education students should remember before arriving at the test centers.

Bring a Photo ID

Make sure you bring a valid photo ID. Proctors will use this to help check you in. This can be your NC State student ID, driver’s license, passport or a Military ID.

Timing

Be aware of peak testing times and plan ahead. There are days you may want to plan to come early. Familiarize yourself with the testing hours and give yourself enough time to complete your tests. All testing is on a walk-in basis. Coming early may reduce your wait time. We’ve made it a little easier for you to monitor wait times.

DUO Authentication

If you use DUO, make sure to bring your device with you to sign in at the test center. Although you’ll use this to sign in, phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the testing room. The mobile app will help things go a lot smoother.

Cameras

Students taking tests at the DELTA Test Centers are monitored by video and computer surveillance at all times to ensure academic integrity.

Need Help?

Our proctors and test center staff members are here to assist you. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask a proctor.

Students who live more than 50 miles from campus, have the option of taking an exam with a remote proctor in their area.

Now, you’re prepared to take your first test as an Online and Distance Education student.
